Terms of Use

Last updated: July 31, 2026

These Terms of Use are provided as a draft for informational purposes only. Before publishing, they should be reviewed by a qualified legal professional to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

By accessing or using TeenEarn, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the platform.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of TeenEarn, including the website located at teenearn.com and any related services, features, and content (collectively, the "Platform").

By creating an account, browsing the Platform, submitting a job request, approving a teen profile, or otherwise using TeenEarn, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

If you are a parent or guardian approving a teen account, you also agree to these Terms on behalf of the teen for the purpose of supervising and approving their TeenEarn activity.

2. About TeenEarn

TeenEarn is a local service marketplace designed to help motivated teens ages 13–17 create profiles, offer community-friendly services, and connect with customers nearby, with parent or guardian oversight built into the process.

TeenEarn provides technology that enables discovery, communication, and profile management. TeenEarn is not an employer of teens, customers, or parents, and does not itself provide lawn care, tutoring, or other neighbourhood services.

TeenEarn is a platform for connecting people. Arrangements for work, payment, and in-person meetings are made between users and remain their responsibility, subject to these Terms and applicable law.

3. Eligibility

Teens

To create a teen account, you must:

  • Be between 13 and 17 years of age
  • Provide accurate registration information
  • Obtain parent or guardian approval before your profile becomes publicly visible
  • Use TeenEarn only for lawful, age-appropriate activity

Parents and guardians

Parents and guardians must be adults with legal authority to approve and supervise the teen's TeenEarn account. Parents connect to a teen account only through a secure invitation initiated by the teen.

Customers

Customer accounts are for adults only. TeenEarn does not allow anyone under 18 to create a customer account. By creating a customer account, you represent that you are at least 18 years old.

TeenEarn may suspend or remove accounts that do not meet eligibility requirements, including accounts created by users below the applicable minimum age.

4. Accounts

When you create an account, you agree to:

  • Provide information that is true, accurate, and complete
  • Keep your login credentials confidential
  • Notify TeenEarn promptly if you suspect unauthorised access
  • Accept responsibility for activity that occurs under your account, subject to applicable law and parental oversight for teen accounts

You may not create an account for another person without authorisation, impersonate another person, or use another user's account.

5. Parent and Guardian Approval

Every teen profile must be reviewed and approved by a parent or guardian before it becomes visible to customers. No teen profile is live without that step.

Parents and guardians may:

  • Review the teen's draft profile before approval
  • Monitor TeenEarn activity linked to the teen account
  • Review incoming job requests where that feature is available
  • Withdraw approval at any time
If approval is withdrawn, the teen's public profile will be unpublished. Parents cannot search for or link to a teen account without the teen's invitation.

Parents may monitor activity but cannot edit profile content on the teen's behalf. Teens remain responsible for the content they publish, subject to these Terms and parent oversight.

6. Teen Profiles and Conduct

Teens agree to:

  • Use a cartoon avatar rather than displaying a real personal photo publicly
  • Show only a general service area — never an exact address, school name, or precise location
  • Keep age information private; age is used for eligibility and is not shown publicly
  • Post only truthful service descriptions and completed-job reports
  • Communicate respectfully and decline any request that feels unsafe or uncomfortable

Teens must not share private contact details publicly in a way that undermines TeenEarn's safety design, or use the Platform to arrange prohibited services described in Section 9.

7. Customer Accounts and Conduct

Customers may browse profiles and services without an account. An account is required to send a job request.

Customers agree to:

  • Use TeenEarn only if they are 18 or older
  • Provide accurate account information and a truthful profile description
  • Treat teens and families with respect and communicate appropriately
  • Request only services that are suitable for a minor and permitted on TeenEarn
  • Never pressure a teen to accept a job, enter a private home unsupervised, or ignore safety guidance
Customer profile photos are self-provided and are not identity verified. TeenEarn does not guarantee the identity of any user. Always use good judgment.

8. Services and Job Requests

Teens may create service posts describing outdoor and community-friendly work, rates, and availability. Customers may send job requests for those services.

Users understand that:

  • A job request is an invitation to discuss work, not a guarantee of completion
  • Teens are never required to accept a job request and may decline for any reason
  • Parents may review job requests associated with their teen where that feature is available
  • TeenEarn may review, hide, or remove service posts that violate these Terms or community guidelines

9. Prohibited Services and Activities

TeenEarn is designed for outdoor and community-friendly work. The following are not permitted on the Platform:

  • Unsupervised access to the inside of a customer's home
  • Handling money, valuables, or financial accounts
  • Services that put a teen alone with an unknown adult in a private setting
  • Any service not appropriate for a minor under local law
  • Harassment, hate speech, exploitation, scams, illegal activity, or posting another person's personal information without permission

TeenEarn reviews service posts and reports and reserves the right to remove content, restrict features, or suspend accounts that violate these rules.

10. Payments and Fees

Payment arrangements for services are made between the customer and the teen (and, where applicable, with parent or guardian involvement). TeenEarn may introduce platform fees or payment features in the future.

Unless TeenEarn expressly states otherwise in writing, TeenEarn is not a party to the service agreement between users and is not responsible for collecting, holding, or remitting payment for local jobs arranged through the Platform.

Any pricing shown on a teen profile is set by the teen and may be negotiable. Users should confirm the rate, scope, and timing before work begins.

11. Content and Intellectual Property

Users retain ownership of content they submit, such as bios, service descriptions, and reviews, to the extent permitted by law. By posting content on TeenEarn, you grant TeenEarn a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, and distribute that content as needed to operate and improve the Platform.

The TeenEarn name, logo, design, and software are owned by TeenEarn or its licensors and may not be copied or used without permission.

Avatar generation uses a temporary uploaded photo solely to create a cartoon avatar. The original uploaded photo is permanently deleted after processing, as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Privacy

Your use of TeenEarn is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the privacy protections designed for teens, parents, and customers.

Key privacy practices include parent approval before a teen profile goes live, cartoon avatars instead of public real photos, and display of only a general service area.

13. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

TeenEarn is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free operation, or that every user identity, review, or service description is accurate.

Users are responsible for evaluating the suitability and safety of any job arrangement. If a request feels wrong, teens should decline it and may report concerns through TeenEarn support channels. In an emergency, contact local emergency services first.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, TeenEarn is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for losses arising from interactions between users, offline work arrangements, or reliance on user-generated content.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be limited under applicable consumer or child-protection law.

14. Suspension and Termination

TeenEarn may suspend, restrict, or terminate access to the Platform if we reasonably believe a user has violated these Terms, created a safety risk, provided false information, or used TeenEarn in a way that could harm minors or other users.

Users may stop using TeenEarn at any time. Parents may withdraw approval, which unpublishes the teen's public profile. Requests to delete an account and associated personal data may be submitted as described in the Privacy Policy.

15. Changes, Governing Law, and Contact

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we may also provide additional notice through the Platform or by email where appropriate. Continued use of TeenEarn after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms, except where applicable law requires a different process.

Governing law

These Terms are intended to be interpreted in accordance with applicable laws of the jurisdiction in which TeenEarn operates, without regard to conflict-of-law principles that would require another jurisdiction's law. Local mandatory consumer and child-protection rules remain unaffected.
